Supporting other BIDS
Mentoring
Over the years Andrew has seen first hand how lonely and unsupported BID leadership can be. He aims to bridge this gap by objectively ‘flying alongside’ other BIDs by providing a mentoring and troubleshooting service to new and established BID managers and Chief Executives.
Technology
Andrew led the partnership, which created Solomon, an innovative database specifically designed to support BIDs. With no other comprehensive database product on the market, this bespoke software is now used by over 50 UK BIDs along with others in the USA.
Strategy
With 20 years’ experience of place management behind him, Andrew knows how crucial a clear vision and focussed roadmap is to a BID. He can objectively support a management team to set out a strategic direction for a place partnership at board meetings and away days.
Supporting a vibrant high street
I passionately believe that success in a place cannot be down to one organisation. True collaboration and partnership working are essential for any place in achieving its potential.
Senior Fellow of the Institute of Place Management
Andrew was recently elected a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Place Management (IPM) in recognition of his impressive achievements in the Business Improvement District (BID) industry .
The IPM is the international professional body, which supports people committed to developing, managing and making places better.
“Receiving this award was a complete surprise and I am delighted that my contribution and work for and on behalf of BIDs has been recognised in this way. The nomination comes from existing Fellows in the Institute of Place Management, so it is an honour to receive this accreditation directly from them. I will continue to advocate for BIDs and their successfulness in managing places throughout the UK.”

Testimonials
I knew it was a sorry day for Stratford-upon-Avon when Andrew Cooper left the Town Management Partnership and I was right. I have watched Andrew’s progressive and innovative leadership with interest and Leeds is very lucky to have his knowledge and expertise as Leeds is now a wonderful, vibrant and exciting city. Stratford-upon-Avon is a wonderful place too but I wish Andrew would return because he would undoubtedly take us to a new dimension.
I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Andrew since 2017. Andrew never fails to provide insight and vision across the vast array of issues. He sees the importance and value in bringing people together, working collaboratively to achieve a common goal, and is instrumental in building partnerships that support the development and the vision of Leeds. Despite the responsibilities that come with leading an organisation such as LeedsBID, he is extremely approachable, and always makes time for you.
